Two spirit LGBTQ youth nature retreat

LGBTI two-spirited youth are given an opportunity to take part in a weekend retreat in the Laurentians to discuss their issues in a healthy environment and to consider concrete actions to advance their aspirations.

More precisely, Native Montreal wishes to support LGBTI two-spirited youth by organizing the first of many gatherings in a cabin in the Laurentians where they will be accompanied by a small team comprised of our team and Suzy Goodleaf and Diane Labelle, who are both two-spirited Mohawks, and have over 10 years of experience in organizing two-spirited gatherings.

During this retreat, youth will have the opportunity to:

  • Network with other youth like them
  • Explore their identity issues in an inclusive and safe environment
  • Learn more about the two-spirit and LGBTI history and culture
  • Participate in activities together: bonfire, supper, movie night, etc.
  • Think about actions to defend their interests or to take part in Montreal and North America’s two-spirit community, as well as Montreal’s LGBTI community
  • Meet Montréal Pride Partners

In the Laurentians, 45 minutes away from Montreal, in a cabin that can accommodate 20 people.

** To ensure the participants’ confidentiality, only the participants who are enrolled will be given the information about the exact location.
