For the third edition of the Iorahkote camp, Native Montreal will offer an alternative 1-week March Break day camp opportunity for Indigenous youth living in the greater metropolitan area. This day camp aims to provide a safe and healthy environment that promotes the development of Indigenous children in traditional Indigenous values. No fees are required for the participation of young participants, so that all families can access this service.

Under the supervision of the day camp Coordinator, day camp Instructors will be responsible for facilitating activities and monitoring registered campers in their respective groups. The activities will cover a wide range of topics, including sporting, educational and cultural activities.

Job duties include:
Participate in the animation of daily activities of the day camp;
Facilitate, support and encourage the participation and integration of young people in activities;
Group supervision, intervention with young people and ensuring their safety;
Collaborate in the maintenance of the premises, as needed;
Meet the needs of the clientele (campers and parents) as needed;
Perform all other related tasks requested by the Day Camp Coordination Team.

Relevant work experience with children.
Relevant experience in an Indigenous environment.
Studying in the field of education or special education, leisure and social work is an asset.
Valid First Aid certification (candidates without certification must participate in a training organized by Native Montreal)

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
Excellent group management skills;
To be able to work in a team setting;
Problem-solving skills;
Bilingual (French / English), is an asset;

Conditions of employment :
Work from 8:00 to 4:00 from March 4th to 8th (40 hours)
Be available for 1 day, a week before the camp begins for training (paid), plus 1 additional day for First Aid training if not already certified (paid)
Salary: $ 13.50 / h
